Hammersmith and Fulham Council

Hammersmith and Fulham Council asked Dragonfly to produce a video to recruit foster carers from across London. From the Home Office to the Health Service, local councils to emergency services, Dragonfly has been a trusted provider of professional public sector videos for over a decade.
We bring cutting-edge film and animation techniques to projects ranging from public awareness and stakeholder engagement campaigns through to internal communications, and we pride ourselves on knowing just what buttons to push when it comes to creating targeted and compelling video content.

We knew that this video needed to strike an emotional chord – but it was important to both us and the client that it wasn’t sad. Instead, the goal was to produce something uplifting and motivational, showing the enormous benefits that come from becoming a foster carer, and inspiring people to get involved.

We took a mixed-method approach to this video – recording live action footage before overlaying painterly, hand-drawn animation over the top. We wanted the style of animation to reflect the theme of childhood, so we used hand-drawn characters and objects in a sketchy child-like style add to the idea of vulnerability and growth.

Our wide-ranging experience creating video for the public sector also means that we’re well-versed in the various organisational processes and standards expected when a video project or campaign is outsourced. From project scoping to final cut, we work closely with our clients at every stage, ensuring our creative efforts are 100% aligned the organisation’s strategic goal, and that the key messages reach the audience in precisely the way intended.
