This was the story of an outstanding autism service for children in Staffordshire. A service which centred around completely different model, designed to irradiate waiting lists.
There was a powerful story at the heart of the success of this children’s service, so our creatives decided to deliver that story by animating a children’s picture book.
We wanted to emulate the look and feel of a classic children’s illustrated book, so our team hand drew characters in the style of the famous children’s storybook illustrator Quentin Blake.
Our animated video was a hybrid between an organic hand-drawn illustration, mixed with 3D elements to create a wonderful illustrated children’s pop-up storybook.
Storyboard artwork and the process of sketching out the story was an important step, ahead of moving the project into the animation stage. By storyboarding out a visual narrative for our video, we were able to shape the best story-flow on paper first.

The finished video really was something to be proud of. The extra creative efforts and time spent hand illustrating characters really paid off.

“Dragonfly produced a beautiful animated video for us which has transformed our business. The video helped explain our service offering and was instrumental in our organisation securing a £3million contract. What more needs to be said?””
