A Producer is basically the project manager for the entire production, overseeing the process from cradle to grave. The Producer holds the purse strings – he/she is responsible for setting and maintaining budgets for the project. Creative input varies dependent on project but the Producer is the facilitator. Producers are responsible for raising funding, reading, researching and assessing ideas, commissioning writer to do their thing, and arranging shooting schedules. In a nutshell, the Producer focuses on dealing with the practical aspects of the video production to allow other members of the team to get on with the creative aspects!
The main advantage to hiring a producer (especially if you are a complete newbie to video production and dont fancy winging it) is having someone to oversee the process and project manage (alongside you, of course). Our producer will likely be the first friendly face you will meet during your work with us, and having successfully built lasting relationships with many clients we are confident that he will be able to provide you with a go-to-guy and sounding board for your vision. Its a given that Dragonfly have years of Video Production experience, so you’ll be able to concentrate on the million other things you have going on, knowing that your video is being produced by a complete pro.
