The role of the Director is to control the artistic and dramatic aspects of the films entire production. The Director will read and interpret a script, forming a vision of how it would look in film. The Director then uses this vision to guide the technical crew and actors, issuing them with directions. The Director usually has a key role in the choosing of actors, production design and all creative aspects. He may also direct the shooting timetable and meeting deadlines, making him fully responsible for any ridiculously early starts suffered by the crew.
